CITY OF ROCKY RIVER

The Special Meeting of Council was called to order by Mr. Bemer, Director of Law, at 5:18 p.m. following the administering of the oaths of office to the Mayor, the Law Director and all members of Council by the Honorable Brian F. Hagan of the Rocky River Municipal Court.
Council Members Present: Mr. Hunt, Mr. Shepherd, Mr. Mylen, Mr. Furry, Ms. Arabian
Mr. Long, Mr. Moran
Administration: Mayor Bobst, Mr. Linden and other Directors, Commissioners and staff
Law Director: Mr. Bemer
Press: Mr. Saylor
Mr. Bemer called for nominations for President of Council; Mr. Hunt nominated Mr. Moran. As there were no further nominations, Mr. Long moved that nominations be closed, seconded by Mr. Hunt.

Arabian - aye Long - aye Moran - aye

Mr. Moran thanked Council for its vote of confidence and pledged to work hard to represent not only the City, but all members of Council.
Mr. Moran then called for nominations for President pro tem of Council. Mr. Shepherd nominated Mr. Hunt, seconded by Mr. Furry. As no further nominations were made, nominations were closed.

RESOLUTION NO. 1-08 BY ALL MEMBERS OF COUNCIL
AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION TO APPOINT MISAO KUROKAWA AS CLERK OF COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROCKY RIVER
1ST READING
Moved by Mr. Moran, seconded by Mr. Furry, that the rule requiring that Resolution No. 1-08 be read on three separate days be suspended, and that Resolution No. 1-08 be placed upon its passage:
Discussion: Mr. Moran explained that because the business of Council needs to continue, a suspension of the three-read rule was necessary. Further, this is an emergency resolution which means that it will go into effect immediately upon passage.

The oath of office was administered to the Clerk by Council President Moran.
Mr. Moran thanked everyone for attending, and the clergy and family members for their support. He commented that all elected officials are looking forward to serving the community for the next two years.
As there was no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 5:26 p.m.
