COLLEGE CLUB WEST

 

Purpose: To promote and stimulate the educational, cultural, civic and social interests of its members and the residents of the community.

 

Membership requirements: Any woman who has a bachelor's degree from an accredited degree granting college. The current membership is close to 500.

 

Meetings: Meetings are held the first and third Wednesdays of each month, at 7:45 P.M. and 12:45 P.M. respectively, at Rocky River Memorial Hall, 21012 Hilliard Blvd.

 

Activities: Speaker and refreshments are provided at the twice monthly general meetings. Guests are welcome and the community is invited via newspaper announcements. There are 37 interest groups within the organization including antiques, book study, investment, bridge, golf, quilting, miniatures, needlework, Spanish and French, walking for fun, lunch bunch, art appreciation and many more. These interest groups meet monthly.

 

Scholarships: College Club sponsors scholarships for west side women returning to school or continuing their education. Information about the scholarships is published in the local newspapers in November and posted on bulletin boards at colleges and libraries.
