Don Umerley Civic Center is open and waiting for you!  The "Recreation" side of the building houses a Gym, Track, Indoor Pool, Fitness Center, Aerobics Studios, Indoor Playground, Teen Lounge, Multi-purpose Room and Child-care Room.

Memberships are available for Rocky River residents and employees of Rocky River businesses.  Fees depend on type and size of membership.

The "Memorial Hall" side features the large Memorial Hall, mid-size Community Room, and two smaller Club Rooms which are available to rent for parties, meetings, showers and community events.  For more information and availability, call Emil Rosol at 440-895-2594.

Open September - March.  Skating lessons, open skates, adult skates, youth hockey and special events are provided for both residents and non-residents.  Birthday parties may be scheduled during afternoon open skates.

The Rocky River Water Zone is open early June through early September.  The attached sprayground opens in May closes in September.   Residents may purchase season passes or pay admission at the door.  Proof of residency is required.  Four two-week sessions of swimming lessons are offered, beginning in mid-June.

The indoor soccer arena is open April through August.  The artificial turf appears when the rink ice is melted away, providing fields for Adult, High School and Youth Soccer leagues.  The turf is also used for preschool programs, day camp and special events.  Call 440-356-5666 for more information.

City Parks  440-356-5657 (Year-round)

The City has eight city parks with a variety of amenities.  Parks are open from dawn to dusk   No alcoholic beverages are allowed in any of the parks.  Restrooms are open on a seasonal basis, generally from mid-April to October, depending on weather.  Pets must be on a leash and are not allowed in playground areas; you are responsible for cleaning up after your pet.   Tennis courts operate on a first come-first serve basis; please limit your playing time when others are waiting.  Recreation Department leagues, lessons and High School teams have priority.  Call 440-356-5657 for park information.

Skate Park  440-356-5657 (March - November)
In a cooperative effort between the City of Rocky River and the Rocky River City Schools, the Skate Park at Rocky River High School opened in Fall 205.  Weather permitting, the park is open from March 1 through November 30.  HOURS of OPERATION:  Days school is in session --  4 p.m. to dusk; Days school is not is session, Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays-- 10 a.m. to dusk.  The unique lease agreement between the two entities called for the two abandoned tennis courts at the high school to be turned into the skate park.  In addition to site upgrades and repairs, three pieces of equipment have been installed:   12' x 24' half pipe;  8' x 20' two foot high fun box;   8' x 8' 3 1/2 foot high quarter pipe.
