The Rocky River City Hall paper / cardboard recycling bins have been temporarily moved and are now located near the Wagar Road entrance - next to the Fire Department. We anticipate the paper recycling bins to be relocated for three weeks while the City Hall parking lot is being repaved. Once paving is complete - the bins will be moved back to be located near the Civic Center. The bin area near the Civic Center will be expanded as part of this paving project to provide additional, safe space to drop off recycling. The paving area extends from the Civic Center to the Municipal Court. The two-way traffic driveway leading to the Civic Center and Ice Rink will also be paved.
All public / municipal buildings will be open and operating during paving. The paving contractor will accommodate all traffic and parking areas will be available but travel to the Civic Center and Ice Rink may require short delays while paving equipment is being operated. Please be aware that some paving and pavement marking work will occur on Saturday mornings over the next month as weather allows. Thank you, in advance, for your patience in this regard.
Paving has also begun on the some of following streets scheduled for paving in Rocky River (milling is the first item of work then a seal will be installed and then asphalt will be applied in three separate phases):
- Kensington Oval
- Wooster Parkway
- High Parkway (from 18519 High Parkway to East Shoreland)
- Elmwood (from Lake to Avalon)
- Orchard Grove (to Westmoor)
- Erie (West from Elmwood through and including Whittlesay Lane)
- Smith Court (from Ingersoll to South Falmouth / South Kensington)
- City Owned Alley off Morewood and Erie
- City Hall parking lot
- And concrete repairs on Southbend Circle and Southbend Drive.
Concrete repairs will also be made in the City Hall parking lot in front of the Municipal Court. Once those concrete repairs are complete, the asphalt process will begin in the area between the Civic Center and Municipal Court. We anticipate street paving projects to be completed by the end of September - as weather allows.
