Construction Update for June 12, 2018

James Umerley

CITY OF ROCKY RIVER CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

As a reminder, the City has passed legislation that prohibits parking on the hydrant side of most side streets.  This rule does not apply to the commercial on-street parking areas and streets where there is a median.

 Detroit Road Paving

Milling on the west end of Detroit begins Wednesday, June 13th as weather allows.  The road will be milled with new intermediate asphalt being immediately installed.  This initial milling and intermediate layer of asphalt work will continue through early next week as weather allows.  That intermediate layer will leave some castings and catch basins exposed.

Next week, once the intermediate layer is installed, road repairs will be made where necessary.  Two-way traffic on Detroit will be maintained at all times; however, where street repairs are being made – there will be no turning lane available.  The construction zone will continually move along Detroit - blocking one lane of traffic - with two-way traffic  operating at all times. Please be prepared for traffic delays near the road repair construction zone.   The crossing ramps at the intersections will also be replaced.  The paving project for Detroit will continue through October 31st.

If you would like specific updates as to how the construction / road repairs are progressing: please contact City Hall at 440-331-0600 to be placed on the specific Detroit Road paving update list.  You will receive -by email or phone - additional details regarding this project.

Lakeview / Hampton Sewer Improvements

Please note that traffic on Lakeview and Hampton between Westway / Hilliard and Center Ridge is limited to local residents only.  No through traffic is allowed.  The concrete portion of road work is nearing completion on Lakeview – please note ONE-WAY traffic will be maintained until the final asphalt and lane markings are installed.  Some sidewalk work is being finished and pedestrian signals are being installed (at the Westway intersection). Asphalt will be installed- as scheduled by the contractor – after all concrete work is complete.

Road work on Hampton begins this week (as weather allows) which will involve removing the old, existing road.  No through traffic should be traveling on Hampton – only local / residential traffic should be traveling on Hampton and Lakeview between Westway / Hilliard and Center Ridge.

If you would like specific updates as to how the construction / road repairs are progressing: please contact City Hall at 440-331-0600 to be placed on the specific Lakeview / Hampton Project update list.  You will receive - by email or phone - additional details regarding this project.
