CITY OF ROCKY RIVER CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

First Energy is trimming trees in July – east of Wagar and north of Riverview (the area around Eastlook, Scenic, Dorothy, Eldora, etc. and in the areas around Morewood through Beaconsfield and Beachcliff Blvd. area neighborhood).  The First Energy contractor for tree trimming is Asplundh.  During their trimming scheduled in July - their large vehicles may be blocking the streets in these neighborhoods  – please use caution while traveling in the area.  If you have any questions or concerns about tree trimming – please contact City Hall at 440-331-0600 and we will have personnel from Asplundh contact you.

FOR ANY OF THE FOLLOWING PROJECTS: to receive specific updates by email or phone message by calling Rocky River City Hall at 440-331-0600.  The specific updates specific to a project will have more details about the project.  This construction update will give you general information.

Detroit Road Paving

The initial, intermediate layer of asphalt is installed -  castings and catch basins will remain exposed.  Road repairs have started in the construction zone: from the I-90 ramps to Lakeview on Detroit Road. Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times; however, where street repairs are being made – there will be no turning lane available.  Please expect traffic delays in and near the construction repair zone.  That construction zone will continually move along Detroit – with a construction zone blocking one lane of traffic at a time and leaving 2 lanes of traffic maintained at all times.

Within the construction zone crossing ramps at the intersections will be replaced and concrete repairs will be made.   After road / concrete repairs are complete, then a final layer of asphalt will be installed from the Westlake line to Wooster and including a section of Wooster (just south of the Heinen’s driveway). The road repairs and paving for Detroit will continue through October 31st  Thank you for your patience regarding traffic delays near the road repair construction zone.

The ODOT / Detroit Road paving project includes Wooster Road paving which will begin in late spring, 2019 as weather allows. (Wooster Road will be paved next year from Center Ridge to the Heinen’s driveway.)

If you would like specific updates as to how the construction / road repairs are progressing: please contact City Hall at 440-331-0600 to be placed on the specific Detroit Road paving update list.

Lakeview / Hampton Sewer Improvements

Please note that one-way only traffic will be permitted on Lakeview and Hampton between Westway / Hilliard and Center Ridge and traffic is limited to local residents only.  No through traffic is allowed on Lakeview between Westway and Center Ridge and on Hampton between Center Ridge and Hilliard Blvd.

Lakeview: An intermediate layer of asphalt has been installed on Lakeview – catch basins and other castings will be exposed.  Please expect delays on Lakeview between Center Ridge and Westway as crews will be adjusting exposed manholes and catch basin castings to prepare for the final layer of asphalt.  The final layer of asphalt will be scheduled once all adjustments are completed.

Hampton – concrete installation for the roadway is complete on the east side of the street.  Concrete will be poured for aprons next week as weather allows.  Parking is permitted on Lakeview and on Gasser Blvd.  If your apron does not have concrete installed on Monday or Tuesday, then it will be filled with stone for access during the remainder of the week.  Concrete installation for driveway aprons on the east side of Hampton will continue through the week of July 9th.

WEEK OF JULY 2ND: The contractor will be working on Monday and Tuesday and will not be working the remainder of the week (Wednesday, Thursday or Friday).  One-way traffic limits remain in effect.
