Tax Assistance Begins Feb. 6 at RRSC
FREE income
tax assistance will be available at Rocky River Senior Center for persons 60
and older through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program, beginning
Monday, February 6th. Trained VITA volunteers will be available to
prepare tax returns for seniors using forms 1040EZ, 1040A, and the basic 1040
form.
State of Ohio individual tax
returns involving business expenses and the like are NOT covered.

Learn about the Cleveland Play House (CPH)

100,000 people experience over 200 play performances, activities and special

collaboration with Cleveland State University and Playhouse Square relocated

Playhouse Square.

Night”
On September 30, 1987, the
stars were in alignment and an incredible concert took place at the Coconut
Grove in L.A. Roy Orbison and Friends – A
Black & White Night, was filmed entirely in black and white and
broadcast on Showtime in 1988.
The concert is buoyed by an
astonishing cast of Orbison fans who signed on as his accompanists- Bruce
Springsteen, Jackson Browne, Elvis Costello, k.d.lang, Bonnie Raitt, Tom Waits,
J.D. Souther, and Jennifer Warnes, along with the rhythm section from Elvis
Presley’s fabled late ‘60s and early ‘70s touring band. A Black and White Night is a triumphant performance and a superb
production of Orbison’s hits including Only
the Lonely, Blue Bayou, Running

Come learn the history and
meaning of Mah Jongg as we travel to the Maltz Museum in Beachwood to see the
“Project Mah Jongg” traveling exhibit. Designed by Abbott Miller, the exhibit
includes dozens of artifacts – scorecards, aprons, packages, tiles –
chronicling both the commercial legacy and social history of the game. After
our tour, we’ll head to Beachwood Place Mall to have lunch at Nordstrom’s 6th
and Pine Restaurant. Following lunch, we’ll have free time to peruse the shops
at Beachwood Mall.

Travel with us to the
Cleveland Museum of Art to view “Rembrandt in America.” Consisting of
approximately 50 works, the exhibition will bring together autography paintings
by Rembrandt as well as others thought to be by the artist when they entered
American collections. The exhibit presents a survey of the long career of
Rembrandt as a painter.
Lunch will be at Lockkeepers
Restaurant. Entrée selections are your choice of #1 Chicken marsala served with
potatoes and seasonal vegetables; #2 Atlantic salmon, oven roasted with salsa
verde, served with polenta cake and seasonal vegetables; or #3 eggplant

lab has six state of the art computers and
printer. The lab is open
Monday-Friday, 9 AM – 4 PM, except when computer classes are in session. Check

available to senior residents who are in need of services/information. Call

collaboration with the Rocky River Chamber of Commerce, has initiated a project
called BridgeWorks.

weekly meetings on Mondays at 1:15 PM for
people to attend and discuss

Minibus Transportation Service
The Senior Center provides
transportation for Rocky River residents who are
60 years of age or above who
have no other means of transportation. The van service operates Monday-Friday,
9 AM – 4 PM. Rides for medical
appointments have priority
and should be scheduled one week in advance.
All other appointments can be
made two working days in advance. Grocery
shopping is limited to
