The Rocky River Beautification Committee's mission is focused on projects and recreational activities that foster community involvement to improve the appearance of the city. The Committee strives to enhance the quality of life in Rocky River.

Current Initiatives

  • Sixth Annual Light Up River: Join us on December 18, 2016 when we light up the night! Streets throughout Rocky River will be twinkling with thousands of luminarias. Click here for more information.
  • Bright Spots: Through this summer program, we recognize a few residents who are making Rocky River a beautiful place to live, work and relax. Watch for an E-Update next spring regarding 2017 nominations!

  • Resident Initiatives: Residents and neighborhood groups are the keys to some of our projects. In 2011 neighbors around the traffic triangles at the intersection of Beach Cliff Blvd., Morewood Pkwy., and Northcliff Dr. initiated a joint plan with the City to improve this highly visible site near one of our premier parks. Residents on Thomson Circle followed suit in 2015!
  • Signage: We are considering options to upgrade the City’s sign and landscaping at the corner of Hilliard Blvd. and Wagar Rd. The focus is on a monument sign, not an electronic sign.

In The News!

The Committee was started in February, 2003 by a group of residents dedicated to enhancing Rocky River's appearance. The Committee's first task was to guide the City's participation in America In Bloom (AIB), a national competition and community development opportunity. Nationwide, AIB promotes beautification programs through the use of flowers, plants, trees, and other environmental and lifestyle enhancements. Personal and community involvement are cornerstones of their programs.
