A public hearing will be held to discuss an application for grant funding for the Rocky River Senior Center's transportation equipment on January 17, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in the Rocky River Senior Center, 21014 Hilliard Blvd., Rocky River at the Arts & Crafts Room with the Seniors Council Inc. meeting. The City of Rocky River intends to submit a Proposal for a capital grant under the provision of 49 USC Section 5310 of the Federal Transit Act to provide transportation service for the elderly and disabled within local and surrounding area. The grant Proposal will request funds for a ODOT approved Light Transit Vehicle. It is projected that 7,000 trips will be completed annually for seniors/disabled residents with use of the service available weekly, all year, for various activities, including transportation to medical appointments, pharmacies, elder care, grocery, library, banking, social activities / programs and various appointment more. The City of Rocky River invites comments and proposals from all interested public, private and para-transit operators including taxi operators, for the provision of transportation service to the elderly and disabled within our service area.
